Class Description
Capoeira Angola, is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that blends movement and music in an improvisational dialogue of our bodies. It is deeply rooted in African traditions and tells a story of resistance and community power. This workshop will introduce you to the movements, music, songs, history, and philosophy of Capoeira Angola. We will accommodate all skill levels and abilities. Come ready to have fun, sweat, and connect! Class will be led by Leika Suzumura, senior student of Mestre Silvinho and Program Director at Union Cultural Center. This workshop is in partnership with the Union Cultural Center, our neighbors at 8th and King St. We are stronger when we work together!!
